Sri Lankan Ayurveda Tea Recipe

INGREDIENTS (For one person):

  • 1 cup water
  • 1-2 cup roses petals (unsprayed by chemicals, with the white bases removed)
  • 1/4 tes lemon juice 
  • tea leaves
  • honey to taste

PREPARATION:

*In a small pot, bring the water to a boil and then add the rose petals and lemon juice

*Boil for 3-6 minutes, then remove from heat.

*Allow to infuse overnight and store for later

METHOD:

  1. Bring regular water to boil in a kettle, then make a regular cup of tea
  2. Add 2-3 teaspoons of the rose petal and lemon infused water
  3. Add honey to taste
  4. Mix well and drink mindfully, enjoying each sip

NOTES:

*Rose petals are a powerful ayurvedic ingredient that is good for the immune system. 

*Lemon and rose petal infused water is packed with vitamin C and is good for the digestive tract

*Rose petal water has a therapeutic effect on the nervous system and can help relieve depression, fatigue and insomnia.
