Sri Lankan Milk Toffee Recipe

(Total Approx. time: 30-40 minutes)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Can condensed milk
  • 220g sugar
  • 30g butter
  • 2 -3 tes water
  • 1 tes vanilla
  • 50g (or more) chopped cashew

PREPARATION:

*Place baking paper onto a flat plate or flat surface

* Butter the baking paper on one side 

(If you don’t have baking paper, you can just apply butter to the dish surface)

 

COOKING METHOD:

  1. In a pan, place sugar and water and turn heat to medium
  2. Heat mixture until it boils, stir occassionally
  3. Once it starts to boil and thicken, add condensed milk while continuously stirring 
  4. Turn heat to low, keep stirring until mixture becomes really thick and starts to unstick to pan
  5. Stir in nuts, butter and vanilla, mix until well combined
  6. Turn heat off and pour mixture onto buttered flat plate
  7. Cut into square shapes while hot, let it cool and set

NOTES:

You can garnish with roasted coconut
