Sri Lankan Semolina Toffee Recipe

(Total Approx. time: 10-15 minutes)


  • 250 g roasted semolina
  • 150 g desiccated coconut (roasted or raw)
  • 350 -400g sugar
  • 4 Cardamons (crushed)
  • 4 cloves (crushed)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1tsp vanilla



  1. In a pan, place sugar and water and turn heat to medium
  2. Stir occasionally until it boils and starts to thicken
  3. While stirring, add vanilla, crushed cardamon and cloves
  4. Mix well and take off from the stove, add semolina and coconut
  5. Mix well to make a dough-like paste
  6. Place on a flat plate or surface, cut into square shapes.
